Spotting the tapering phase in your own data
GLPath marks tapering as a phase change you confirm yourself, then shows it four ways: a stability band around your weight trend, markers on every chart for the exact date something changed, a journey timeline of every phase you've passed through, and — for Plus — a forward projection that holds rather than guesses at a dose. Together they turn "am I tapering steadily?" into something you can actually look at instead of guess at.
The stability band
Once your weight trend levels off, GLPath shades a band around it — a visual read of "steady, within a normal range of day-to-day noise" rather than a hard target. The band isn't a goal line and it isn't a warning zone; it's just a way of showing, at a glance, whether your recent trend is sitting inside the range it's held for a while, or has drifted outside it. Drifting outside the band isn't flagged as good or bad — it's neutral information, drawn in the same calm color either way.
Markers for every change
Every phase transition and every dose change shows up as a marker directly on your weight and BMI charts — a small, consistent visual cue at the exact date something changed. Scanning back over a marker and the weeks around it is often the fastest way to notice whether your trend moved around the same time, without having to cross-reference a separate log.
The journey timeline
Your full history of phase changes — Active, Tapering, Maintenance, Considering Restart, and anything after — lives on a journey timeline, so you can see the whole shape of your path in one place rather than piecing it together from memory. For Plus subscribers, the same view projects forward from your logged pace, so you can see roughly where the path is heading rather than only where it's been. During tapering specifically, that projection deliberately doesn't forecast a dose — dose changes during tapering are a clinical decision, not a data trend, so GLPath shows a holding label instead of a guess.
What to do with any of this
None of the above tells you whether to taper faster, slower, or not at all — that's not something a chart can answer, and GLPath doesn't try. What it can do is put your own history in front of you clearly enough that a real conversation with your clinician has something concrete to work from: here's when the dose changed, here's what the trend did before and after, here's whether it's stayed inside the band since. If your trend has moved outside the band since a recent dose step-down, is that worth bringing up at your next appointment?
